Empowering Thoughts on Community Building
"Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
~Margaret Mead
~Margaret Mead
When we become united in our understanding and purpose for community we see what Margaret Mead, cultural anthropologist, was witness to; that true community is about changing our world for the better; including inclusion of all.
"Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty."
~ Albert Einstein
~ Albert Einstein
As Einstein concluded, true community is about understanding each citizens needs and having the compassion to be inclusive with the rights and benefits for all.
“A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm.”
~Henrik Ibsen
~Henrik Ibsen
As Ibsen, famed Norwegian playwright opines, collaboration is a fundamental key for community building. An enlightened community always includes collaborative leadership; in my view.
Why is it important to build enlightened community, at this time; you might query?
Our Earth is going through awakening mode, at this time. The old paradigm was deferential to individual rising up as leaders of others. The emerging paradigm is grounded in each individual awakening to her/his true power and purpose. This new paradigm seeks to awaken in each of us the awareness that enlightened leadership is self-leadership.
An enlightened person leads her/himself from within-out.
Thus enlightened community functions best with collaboration of involved individuals based upon the insights of each community member.
This is the type of community that will foster goals and aspirations that are both inclusive and synergistic!
What type of community are you seeking to live within?
What do you see your role being; in this community?
